The
question and concern regarding Internet security still troubles
many potential internet shoppers.

Using the internet to transmit data, like a credit card
no and details, is technically more secure than other methods
given the arbitrary nature
of connection and the possible network routes to an individual site
or user location.

For specific data to be intercepted would be considerably
more difficult than traditional methods. Technically internet
transmission is more secure than providing your credit card details, for
example, to a mail-order company over the telephone or when you give your
credit card to the waiter in a restaurant and they disappear to complete
the form for you to sign.

Bo'ness
On-Line Shop utilises two methods to ensure the
security of the information customers provide.

A secure server (SSL) collects details during payment process in conjunction
with a Split Credit Card processing method. This ensures that Credit
Card details are not transmitted with order confirmation but stored within
secure database and only able to be retrieved by the site owner using secure
name and password.

Also, as an additional protection for both card holder and
retailer, goods can only be sent to credit card billing address.

If
you are still concerned, however, about credit card security,
you are still able to purchase what you require and you will
not need to enter any credit card details on-line but can do
so separately by the more traditional method of fax or by phone.
These options are available and can be chosen in the payments
option within the Bo'ness
On-Line Shop payment procedure.
